I am looking for general dance classes?

I can see how I would go about looking for somewhere to take ballroom dance classes or salsa dance classes, but I am a HORRIBLE dancer and I just want to take like general dance classes so like at a wedding or something I can dance and not look like an idiot. What exactly am I going to be looking for when I try to find classes for what I want? What is the name for dance classes like that?

Generally for weddings the dances are based off of ballroom dances, but are often just less complicated. So i would find a ballroom dance instructor or school. If you are looking for party dances then your best bet is online. All those fun party songs like the Cha Cha slide and electric slide and the two step and the like will probably not be offered by a school, so you'll have to look for them on youtube.

if you want to learn how to salsa then i would recommend going to salsa nights at a local club which usually offer classes early that night like 8 or 9, find an instructor in town or….

You can find lessons online. my girlfriend and i, both salsa dancers, started a salsa website, I Live Salsa, www.ilivesalsa.com, that offers free salsa lessons from beginners to advanced, as well as articles and tips, information on salsa congresses, and videos from other salseros (salsa dancers) around the world.
